Bright sunlight hit the windows of a car driving down the road, a blue van, tugging on a bright white cargo trailer as it was slightly blown from side to side. In the van was a family of nine, the eldest child sitting in the front talking to the mom. L leaned against T’s car seat sighing, the trip was going to take a while, as he knew it would. The family had left to drive to Phoenix AZ just a short time ago, and almost everyone was complaining. L wondered if staring at another saguaro cactus would be more entertaining, he knew he wanted to just get there so the screaming would stop, but L knew that it wouldn’t really help. He listened to the wind shrieking and scraping the sides of the van, it almost lulled him to sleep, until F, A, E, and T all started complaining at the same time. He wondered if they would ever be able to just stay quiet for even just ten minutes, He knew that C would doubt they could even be quiet for five.
When the troop got to the campsite, and had set up camp, A wondered if they could swim that night, Mom said it was okay to, and they all got their swimsuits on. Swimming in winter was one of the weirdest things L had experienced so far in the whole trip, because the water was warm, and back at his home, the swimming pools would be all iced up, or put away. L also thought the hot tub was nice, with the warm jets spitting on his back. It wrapped up the day with some heat and fun.
